26.2 miles of single track, some dirt road, quiet woodlands, open meadows, moderately rolling terrain with a couple steep 200-300 meter elevation gains, one or two creek crossings, at least one short section of bush whacking. This race has it all and its FREE! This is Stumpy's birthday party for himself and is presented for the pure joy of running. This race is what running is supposed to be about. Good volunteer support and aid stations about every 2-4 miles. We even have a free pasta party and have always created a unique, handmade finishers award! Winners receive NO special recognition, other than the envy/derision of the other participants. See the website at www.traildawgs.org. We capped it at 50 runners last year and still had 75 starters. No cap this year. What's the point?

From Baltimore on I-95N, Elton/Newark exit onto 273 to Newark, 4 lane road squeezes to one lane/one way & makes right & becomes Delaware Ave, follow several blocks to left onto Chapel St at Burger King, Chapel St becomes Papermill Rd past RR underpass, at top of looong hill turn right at Shell Station onto Possum Park, then immediate left onto Possum Hollow Road, left into Middle Run Natural Area. Park and race.

From Philadelphia on I-95S, Christiana/Rt 7 N exit, follow Route 7 north several miles, watch signs closely for sudden turns, cross Rt 2 getting closer, at top of looong hill .5 mile past K-Mart shopping center on left make left onto Paper Mill Road/Rt 72, several miles make left at Shell Station onto Possum park, then immediate left onto Possum Hollow Road, left into Middle Run Natural Area. Park and race.
