This trail snakes through the heart of Rapid City along Rapid Creek. It is entirely concrete but provides a nice scenic run from near the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology to just past Canyon Lake Park. The trail travels along the flood plain and thus is surrounded by parks and greenery the entire way.

This run is a nice diversion if you find yourself in Rapid City on vacation and need to get out. Can also be run out and back for about 12 miles total.

From downtown Rapid City take Omaha street east to Lacrosse Street and turn South. Take a right on E. Main St. and park in the grass just opposite the 4-H building on the fairgrounds. Begin north on the concrete path and follow it west through the city until you reach Canyon Lake Park. The trail ends just past the Fish Hatchery at the west end of town.
